Dennis Madden is a lifelong fixer, thinker, and storyteller. Raised in San Jose, California, he built a career in the automotive industry—specializing in automatic transmissions—before serving 21 years as CEO of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association.
His passion for making the complex understandable led him to roles as a transmission rebuilder, technical trainer, and business consultant.
Dennis’s writing journey began with Follow the Loser: How Abject Failures Can Lead a Revolution, a seven-year exposé revealing how personal failures—dictators, authoritarians, and cult leaders—have manipulated the masses into following them. The book offers readers practical insight into spotting charlatans and resisting their influence. He later co-authored Hi-Rev for Small Business with renowned business coach Jim Cathcart, offering practical strategies for entrepreneurs. His third book, Clear Water: A Pool Owner’s Guide to Trouble-Free Care, reflects his hands-on approach to problem-solving and his newfound love of pool care after relocating to Henderson, Nevada.
Now venturing into fiction, Dennis brings his analytical mind and historical curiosity to Garrett: A Family Saga of Murder and Intrigue, his debut crime thriller. Whether writing about business, backyard chemistry, or buried secrets, Dennis is driven by a single goal: to help readers see the world more clearly—one story at a time.
